Product Roadmap
What's built, what's next, and where we're going
Already Built & Live
SlabOS is not a concept — it's a production SaaS platform at slabos.org with a working quoting engine, job management, and AI features. Here's what's shipping today:
6-Step Quoting Wizard
Draw countertops, set edges, add cutouts, pick materials, nest slabs, and price — all in a single guided flow with live 2D/3D preview.
Centerline Geometry Engine
Proprietary polygon-based drawing engine with L/U/island shapes, per-segment depth, corner mods (radius, chamfer, bump-out, notch), seam placement.
AI Business Intelligence
Ask questions in plain English — "What's being installed this week?" — and get instant answers from your live production data.
AI Price List Import
Upload a vendor PDF, CSV, or Excel file. AI extracts all colors, thicknesses, and pricing automatically. Minutes instead of hours.
Job & Calendar Management
Full job lifecycle tracking with calendar scheduling, crew assignment, activity logging, and status workflows.
Slab Nesting & Layout
Drag counter pieces onto slab images, rotate, auto-nest for optimal material usage. Cross-slab drag-and-drop with photo backgrounds.
Multi-Tenant SaaS
Row-level tenant isolation, role-based access control, per-tenant feature flags, and a super-admin panel for client onboarding.
Moraware Data Migration
One-click import of jobs, accounts, calendar, and activities from Moraware via their published API. Zero switching friction.
Development Timeline — 2027 (H2)
Q3 2027
AI Expansion Planned
- Predictive analytics (revenue forecasting, lead scoring)
- Voice-to-quote (describe a countertop verbally, AI builds the drawing)
- AI material waste optimization (slab nesting recommendations)
- Homeowner self-service quoting (embed on fabricator websites)
- White-label branding per tenant (custom colors, logos, domain)
Q4 2027
Platform & Ecosystem Planned
- Real-time collaboration (multiple users editing same quote)
- Plugin marketplace for custom integrations
- Automated fabrication file export (DXF/DWG for CNC machines — advanced)
- Series A preparation — target 380+ shops, $1.5M+ ARR
Development velocity: SlabOS was built in under 4 months by a two-person team. Our lean engineering approach allows us to ship features at a pace that would typically require a much larger team. The roadmap is aggressive but achievable given our track record.
Long-Term Vision
SlabOS aims to become the operating system for countertop fabrication — the single platform that runs every aspect of a fabrication business from first customer contact to final installation.
Phase 1: Win Shops — Full-Suite Launch (Now – Q4 2026)
The quoting engine, job tracker, calendar, and AI assistant are already built and live. This phase is about onboarding shops at scale, refining the product with real customer feedback, and building integrations (QuickBooks, supplier catalogs) that make SlabOS the only tool a shop needs.
Phase 2: Deepen & Expand (2027)
Mobile-first field tools for on-site measuring, advanced AI (scheduling optimization, predictive analytics, voice-to-quote), inventory management with barcode/QR scanning, and enterprise features for multi-location operations. This is where we pull ahead of every competitor on capability.
Phase 3: Become the Platform (2028+)
Open API, plugin marketplace, white-label branding, and homeowner self-service quoting. Become the infrastructure layer that the entire fabrication supply chain builds on — from material suppliers to installers to homeowners.
The end state: A fabricator opens SlabOS in the morning and sees their day — which jobs to cut, which to install, which quotes are aging, what inventory is low, and what revenue looks like this month. They never need to open another tool. That's the vision.
Why We'll Win
- Built by fabricators, for fabricators. The founding team uses the product daily in their own shops. Every feature comes from real pain, not market research.
- AI-native from day one. Not bolted on as an afterthought. AI is woven into quoting, pricing, reporting, and data import.
- Modern tech stack. Features ship in weeks that legacy vendors take quarters to build. AI-assisted development is the force multiplier.
- Zero switching friction. One-click legacy migration. Import price lists, jobs, and accounts in minutes.
- Trust-based sales. In an industry where relationships matter more than marketing, respected industry veterans selling peer-to-peer is the ideal GTM motion.
